THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN
Director Georgiy Isaakyan
duration 2 h 10 min
with 1 intermission
Perhaps the only piece to be inspired by a newspaper cartoon strip, Janáček’s opera tells the story of a vixen who lives, falls in love, raises a family and then perishes. It is a parable about of life as it continues its inevitable cycle. Winter changes to spring, spring to summer and summer to autumn. And so happens year in and year out.
The performance is addressed first of all to teenagers who are just entering adulthood and thinking about the meaning of life, love, losses and own place in this great, complex and beautiful world.
