THUMBELINA
fairy tale opera
6+
duration 2 hours
with one intermission
Famous fairy-tale, written by Hans Christian Andersen, gets its new life with the modern music, singing and dancing. It takes the audience to the magic world where the story teller Ole-Luk-Oie lives. He waves with the magic wand and a tiny little girl, no bigger than a thumb, emerges from a wonderful flower.
Opera tells about Thumbelina’s adventures in an old field mouse dwelling; with marriage-minded bog toads, stag beetles and mole. She successfully avoids their intentions by fleeing to a far land with a swallow where she is falling in love with a flower-fairy prince.
